Different eyelash extension thicknesses explained

Let's dive into the world of eyelash extensions and explore different thicknesses. When it comes to lash extensions, thickness is measured in millimeters (mm). The most common thicknesses range from 0.03mm to 0.15mm.

Thinner lashes, such as 0.05 and 0.03, are perfect for creating a full and dramatic look. Because these lashes are very light you are able to pick up between 2 to 20 Lash fibres to create very full and thick eyelash extensions from Russian volume to mega volume looks! These lashes are lightweight and blend seamlessly with your client's natural lashes. They're great for clients who prefer a more dramatic appearance or those with fine or sparse natural lashes.

On the other hand, if your clients desire a more natural and subtle look, heavier lashes like 0.15mm and 0.10mm are the way to go. These lashes provide a natural and stunning effect. Because these eyelash extensions are heavier in weight we are only able to pick up one extension and place one extension onto each natural eyelash. This will create a classic eyelash extension effect! Classic eyelash extensions are perfect, if your client wants a more natural effect and if they have lots of natural lashes!

When selecting the right lash thickness, it's essential to consider your client's natural lashes and their desired outcome. Take into account the thickness and density of their natural lashes, as well as their personal preferences. It's important to strike a balance between achieving the desired look and maintaining the health and integrity of their natural lashes.

If you are creating a hybrid eyelash extensions set you will mix different thicknesses together for example you can use 0.05 to create the Russian volume fans and you can use 0.10 for the classic lashes mixing a BA’s together to create a hybrid eyelash extension set.

Remember, as a lash technician, you have the creative freedom to mix and match different lash thicknesses to create a customized look for each client. This allows you to cater to their unique style and enhance their natural beauty.

So, whether you're aiming for a subtle and natural look or a dramatic and voluminous effect, understanding the different lash thicknesses will help you achieve stunning results for your clients. Happy lashing!
